女性脱发!是什么原因导致的,为什么无法控制?

Many women seem to face this problem, right? Excessive hair loss, widening hair part, receding hairline, daily hair loss—whether it's from combing or even just running fingers through hair, strands keep falling out. Some of you might even experience clogged drains due to hair loss after washing your hair. So, how do we know if our hair loss is abnormal? To help you regain thick and healthy hair, today we will address the causes of hair loss in women and how to restore your hair to its beautiful, healthy state.

Why is my hair falling out?

The life cycle of hair consists of three phases: the growth phase (Anagen), the resting phase (Catagen), and the shedding phase (Telogen). In the shedding phase, about 10% of your hair may fall out, and this phase typically lasts for around 2-3 months.

Did you know that… on average, a person has around 100,000 strands of hair? Normally, it's expected that you could lose about 50-100 hairs a day, with new hair growing to replace the lost ones. Or, if you notice losing up to 200 strands during washing, this is still considered within normal limits. However, if hair loss is excessive or you observe clumps of hair falling out, it could be a sign of an underlying issue. Here are the common causes of hair loss in women:

  • Genetics
This is the most common cause. If your family has a history of thinning hair or receding hairlines, you may also be prone to these issues in the future.
  • Hormones
Hormonal changes, such as during pregnancy, after childbirth, or menopause, can lead to hair loss.
  • Lifestyle
Your daily habits may unknowingly affect your hair over time, leading to thinning and hair loss. Examples include inadequate sleep, stress, using chemical treatments on your hair, excessive hair coloring, incorrect hair brushing methods, poor diet, and nutritional deficiencies, especially in protein, iron, and B vitamins.
  • Side Effects of Certain Medications
Some medications can have side effects that lead to hair loss, such as acne treatments, antibiotics, blood thinners, and more. These medications may disrupt your body's systems, weakening your hair and causing thinning.
  • Chronic Illnesses
Certain medical conditions like thyroid disease or anemia can lead to hair loss and thinning.
  • Thyroid Hormone Imbalance
Abnormal thyroid hormone levels can cause excessive hair shedding and thinning.

How severe is your hair loss?

Female pattern hair loss is categorized into three levels based on the Ludwig-Savin Scale:

  • Stage 1: At this early stage, slight thinning may be noticed along the hair part or in the center of the scalp.
  • Stage 2At this stage, moderate thinning can be seen at the center of the scalp, where the scalp becomes visible.
  • Stage 3:At this more severe stage, hair thinning is so significant that the scalp becomes clearly visible.

How to prevent and address hair loss

Normally, if you find yourself at stage 2 or higher, it may be time to take action or consult a dermatologist or trichologist to accurately diagnose the cause of your hair loss and recommend appropriate treatment. This may include medications, lifestyle adjustments, or other therapies. Addressing hair loss effectively should be accompanied by positive lifestyle changes for the best outcomes.

  • Avoid high heat: Using hair dryers, curling irons, or straighteners at high temperatures frequently can cause hair damage and increase shedding.
  • Choose gentle hair care products: Avoid products with harsh chemicals.
  • Eat a nutritious diet: Focus on foods rich in protein, vitamins, and minerals, such as vegetables, fruits, whole grains, meats, and eggs.
  • Get enough rest: Adequate sleep allows your body to repair itself.
  • Exercise regularly: Physical activity helps improve blood circulation, strengthening hair roots.
  • Reduce stress: Stress is a significant factor in hair loss, so find ways to relax, such as meditating, listening to music, or engaging in hobbies you enjoy.

Taking care of your hair and addressing hair loss is something that should not be overlooked. If you or someone you know is dealing with this issue, it’s best to consult a hair specialist to determine the cause and find the appropriate treatment
